Fiat 500L (1968-1972)

To my surprise, this tiny little dinky-toy is parked right next to my front door. Should it have been a 1957 Fiat 500 Nuova, it would have been remarkable. Now, it is not a very special car at all.

But I don’t care!

I like this tiny little bugger. And all of you, ask you mom if she isn’t, secretly or openly, completely in love with this car? How many new Fiat 500 adorers are there in the crowd?! This backpack of a car is just too funny not to like! A former girlfriend of me bought a car like this in their Zürich ‘wohngemeinschaft’ just for fun. They drove through the house and garden… It was a party gimmick. The son of an American friend bought one of these in the first week of his year-long internship in the Netherlands. Back home, he drove a Cadillac Escalade… He swore he would ship it back with him when he would leave again, and wreak havoc on the US highway in it 🙂

Oh, and I am still on the lookout for a Fiat 500 Giardiniera… I don’t think I have even seen one of those? Brilliant car! 😉
