Triumph TR7

January 21st, 2009 by Rolph · No Comments

So, not yet another TR6 for me this time, nope, it’s a late seventies rear-wheel drive Triumph TR7. I like the TR6, the design is exciting and filled with emotion. This car, I am not so sure about. To be honest, it is not a completely honest and unbiased opinion. This car looks remarkable like a whole set of other cars, and I have no warm or cold feelings towards any of those designs. So why don’t I fancy or just shrub this car? Well, probably because this is not the shape of car my mind pulls out of its big drawer of car pictures, somewhere in that strangely wired brain of mine, when the bell ‘Triumph’ is ringing. The car isn’t half bad looking, it just should have been a Fiat or something…

It kinda looks like the X1/9 from Fiat/Bertone. Obviously, they are completely different cars if you start to look more closely, but at first glance… Funnily enough, when searching for some info on these cars, this review came by. Somebody is comparing the two cars! How handy… rest of the site is nice too, so check them for the interesting engine facts etc.

Dodge Coronet Bart pointed out to me that this car is in the Times ’50 worst cars of all time’ list, as well as in the BBC Crap Car list, just as the Maserati Biturbo posted here earlier. Lovely!
