toyota landcruiser hj60 stationwagon

This beautiful 1983 hj60 landcruiser made the brand Toyota invincible! it has a 4 l normal aspirated diesel engine and a truck like 4 speed manual gearbox. It is the big brother of the ”workhorse” bj 40/bj45 and was a big concurrent of the range rover.

The car is enormous and the engine can run easily 1 milion km and is 24 volt(!!) but it is also economical ( 1l diesel for every 10 km)

lateron more info and perhaps more pictures

What is the MPG in Cdn that one can expect. I have acquired one in rather tough (rusty) shape and am wondering if it is worth my while repairing it. It has been a 1 owner well maintained vehicle but the Toronto winters has taken it,s toll on the body
    Thanks George

the 4 l normal aspirated diesel engine is the 2H engine. this one has only run 300.000 km. these engines are built by HINO and they are also found in industrial forklifts. there are no durable cars around and they are very easy to maintain.

My HJ has done 92,000 miles and is a work-horse to the end.Very little maintenance and a whole lot of truck.Just finished the little bit of rust, but now i can pass it down too my son.He is a lucky boy?Imagine,17yrs old and your first vehicle is a 1983 HJ60.4ltr straight 6.5-speed,and only 3 owners.I have lots of spares if you need help.
