Peugeot 203

Will you look at this car… It is completely shot! The paint job is horrible, the interior is almost non-existent. Rust and debri everywhere. A car in this state would be perfect for MTV’s Pimp my ride or something like that. I wonder if it still runs, or is it just rusting away on this quiet little parking spot in the center of historical Schiedam?

The Peugeot 203 is a very mass-produced car, almost 700.000 of them were build between 1948 and 1960. More important, this car was very, very reliable, relatively cheap and build to last. A bit unique in the Netherlands, you would probable not have a hard time finding one in France. And that car would be in a much better condition as well. Soo why posting these pictures…? Well, because this car still looks special! Just look at it, the shitty steel roof rack, the beautiful-albeit-slightly-worn-peugeot-markings (why don’t they make ’em like that anymore?!), the fold-out indicators! I searched around a bit and saw some nice pictures of 203’s in perfect condition, but I like this car better in this rusty worn-down state. It really has this feel of times long gone, and it suits the car!

saw your pictures on Flickr, love this old rusty curvy car. Looks like a type of car we would make a hotrod out of. Maybe I should start importing these, and be the king of hotrods! Nice site, love your cars
