Talbot-Matra Murena (1980-1983)

The new neighborhood starts to deliver… while moving, I fortunately had the possibility to stop and take some pictures of this Talbot Matra Murena. Some people love it, some loathe it, I, well, I just think it is a fun looking car from an era now gone. For a reason…

This car is basically made from galvanized steel and fiber glass paneling. Its predecessor, the Bagheera, had a ahum tiny bit of a problem with rust, so they decided to counter that with drastic measures.  The Murena was actually the first production car to use galvanized steel for all chassis parts. It is a mid engined car, and the performance was not all that poorly, mostly because of its aerodynamic design (well, for the times anyway). And the fun part, the car features three seats, three seats in a row! See picture seven, this mid engined sports car was wide enough to have three front seats! Cool!
